I am developing a custom board using nrf9160. But before jumping to that process, I am using thingy91 (nrf9160 chip) as evaluation board for check all the firmware works properly. So the question is, what is the different when I build firmware for

RE: Different configuration between nrf9160 and thingy91

You are welcome, good to hear it works!

I got my issue. It doesn't work because my sdk is v.2.1.0, so I upgrade it to 2.1.2 and now it works. Thank you.

RE: Different configuration between nrf9160 and thingy91

Hi Imam,
For example in example -> mqtt_simple, I can build it as nrf9160, but I can't build it as thingy91_nrf9160_ns.
This should not be true. If you click on any nRF9160 samples — nRF Connect SDK 2.1.2 documentation (nordicsemi.com), you will find its requirements for hardware.

They are all boards, not a single nRF9160 chip.

Best regards,

Thanks for responding me. Yes, that's why I was asking about the different configuration between nrf9160 and thingy91 for prj.conf file, or something else. I know that thingy91 has several sensors on that, but my point is the configuration file for developing firmware for both boards.

For example in example -> mqtt_simple, I can build it as nrf9160, but I can't build it as thingy91_nrf9160_ns. Do you have any idea about my question is? thank you for responding, really appreciate it.

RE: Different configuration between nrf9160 and thingy91

Hi Imam,

You need to do configurations for nRF9160 in order to use or not use the sensor and peripherals on the Thingy91 board.

For your custom board development, you can refer to Board support — nRF Connect SDK 2.1.2 documentation (nordicsemi.com).
