&lt;p&gt;That&amp;#39;s one of the options. You also could use Segger/VS Code to develop and program the image.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Please try to install the latest version of the &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-tools/nRF-Command-Line-Tools/Download?lang=en#infotabs"&gt;nRF Command Line Tool&lt;/a&gt; and type the following commands.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;pre class="ui-code" data-mode="text"&gt;nrfjprog -v
nrfjprog --recover
nrfjprog --program ble_app_hrs_pca10040_s132.hex --chiperase --verify -r&lt;/pre&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;You use the image from&amp;nbsp;&lt;a title="Blinky Example" href="https://infocenter.nordicsemi.com/topic/sdk_nrf5_v17.1.0/gpio_example.html?cp=8_1_4_6_0"&gt;Blinky Example&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;which is the same as the factory image.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;It should&amp;nbsp;use the programmer to write the images after &amp;quot;erase all&amp;quot;.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
