I found the problem.

I got the error NRF_ERROR_INVALID_STATE, and the function APP_ERROR_CHECK(err_code) went to crash.

Hi,

I read the first post again. I think you might use the nRF5 SDK since you said it's based on the sample project ble_app_uart from nRF5SDK and from the code snippet is also from nRF5SDK. so I correct my answer.

In the nRF5, the code that starts the advertising again is at BLE_GAP_EVT_DISCONNECTED event in ble_advertising_on_ble_evt() in ble_advertising.c. It also works in the ble_app_uart example.

If you are using NCS v1.9.1, I would suggest you use samples/bluetooth/peripheral_uart as the base.
