&lt;p&gt;The config &lt;span&gt;OPENTHREAD_MANUAL_START&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;is automatically selected by the config&amp;nbsp;CONFIG_OPENTHREAD_COPROCESSOR. You can see &lt;a href="https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/latest/kconfig/index.html#CONFIG_OPENTHREAD_MANUAL_START"&gt;this here, on the page describing the config OPENTHREAD_MANUAL_START&lt;/a&gt;.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Right, you shouldn&amp;#39;t have to manually edit anything in .config. Could you expand on why you need to remove&amp;nbsp;&lt;span&gt;OPENTHREAD_MANUAL_START?&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
