Ok, then I think nRF9160: nRF Cloud MQTT multi-service — nRF Connect SDK 2.2.0 documentation (nordicsemi.com) could be a good starting point.

Try to replace nRF Cloud with the mqtt server you are going to choose.

I just want to publish location (longitude and lattitude) to open source mqtt server.

Hi Imam,

I do not think you can easily add MQTT simple to AT v2 as a thread.

I am not sure why you want to do this. Could you explain more about your application?

thanks for replying. yes, I think I am planning to do that. Can I combine between asset tracker v2 with mqtt simple (but for broker I use open source broker) as thread? thanks.

The endpoints are fixed for assert tracker v2+nRF Cloud. You can play with nRF9160: Simple MQTT — nRF Connect SDK 2.2.0 documentation (nordicsemi.com) to learn how to set your own topic and test with a public MQTT broker.
