I'm guessing you might be getting the agps-data, but still isn't able to produce a GPS fix, so it falls back to mcell. It's odd if GNSS and Asset Tracker gives so different results, if the testing environments otherwise are similar.
I find it a bit upsetting that the app doesn't notify about a successful AGPS injection. You can try adding some logs to the nrf_cloud_agps_process() function in the nrf_cloud_agps.c library, just to verify that you actually get the agps-data. You can also try a longer location timeout, so it can search for a longer time, or moving to better conditions to see if this helps.

These are my best tips. Maybe Nordic employees will have some better suggestions when they see this thread.

Hi,

Thanks for the help. The issue is that if it is handled internally by the libraries then it must be giving good accuracy like with 5 meters but in my case, it's giving an accuracy of 1000 + meters. From that, we can also infer that a-gps data is not utilized by asset tracker v2 .

Yes, this was my point. It might be happening even if it doesn't show in the log, as it's handled internally by the library.

Removed:
- A-GPS and P-GPS processing. It is now handled by the nRF Cloud library.

From NCS 2.2.0, the A-GPS data handling is done through the library. Its not shown in the app at all. Perhaps its all working, but its just not showing anything in the logs? I noticed this change when porting my own application to 2.2.0. I found the nrf_cloud_agps_process() function in the nrf_cloud_agps.c library and edited it to show logs, which confirmed my suspicion - the data was handled and it worked, it just didn't tell me. I have not checked if it's the same behavior in the Asset Tracker v2, but I suspect it might be.
