I am evaluating multiprotocol radio with BLE and OpenThread using NCS 2.0.2. I know that in documentation it is said that BLE has priority over 802.15.4 radio. But is there any possibility to change it? Or to switch priority to Thread protocol

RE: Multiprotocol Radio - priority of protocol

I am afraid there is no possibility for that right now.

If your company has a strong reason to request such feature, I would be happy to relay that information to our internal (but your local Nordic sales representative would be the preferred and better channel for that)

RE: Multiprotocol Radio - priority of protocol

It was simply our company internal question - if there is any possibility to maintain prioritization on the radio level. I am totally aware of nature of BLE and Thread networks.

RE: Multiprotocol Radio - priority of protocol

Hi PiotrP,

I take it that you have read our documentation on Multiprotocol Support. The motivation behind giving BLE the highest priority is:

In this solution, Bluetooth Low Energy has always priority over 802.15.4 protocols. Because of the nature of the Bluetooth Low Energy protocol (TDMA), the Bluetooth packet error rate should be 0% in absence of any external interference.

As such, it is not possible to give Thread or any other 802.15.4 protocols priority over BLE.

May I ask what the reason for this interest is?

Hieu
