I've forwarded this as a request to the devs. I can't guarantee anything, but I'll let you know when I hear back from them. Either way, for future reference I'd recommend not to max out the power profiler measurements in the Power Profiler app.

Hi,
there are same errors on all operating systems ("The file: F:\ppk-20230616.ppk requires 2.99880136 gigabytes, but the application you are using is limited to 2.147483647 gigabytes.").
Is there any way to increase RAM-memory for the Power Profiler -program? In advanced settings I can reach only 2147MB.
And yes, it would be great if there is any way to open files. I have multiple files with same issue, those measurements were time consuming.

What kind of error(s) are you seeing on the other operating systems? I can ask the devs if there's anything we can do here if you really need to review this specific file, but if possible I'd recommend decreasing the RAM requirement as explained and do a "smaller" sample measurement that is readable.

I have tried to open on MacOS and Linux already. I wasn't able to open it on either of those.
I've tried to copy the files also, with no luck.

This is because .ppk files are compressed, so when opened they are much larger than the file size indicates. You need to reduce the amount of allocated memory, to something that gives an estimated RAM requirement lower than 1GB. The "estimated RAM requirement" can be seen above the start button in the Power profiler app. We've not yet released a fix for this on Windows I'm afraid. The only way to open this file would be to use the MacOS or Linux version of the Power Profiler app.

Hello,

I have the same issue with opening files. I've also tried open them on Linux and iOS.
I get the following error message: "The file: F:\ppk-20230616.ppk requires 2.99880136 gigabytes, but the application you are using is limited to 2.147483647 gigabytes."
The PPK-file size is only 4 megabytes.
Power profiler version v3.5.5

Hi Simon,

Thanks for looking into it. I will see if we can get a Linux machine to open these files in de future. I will play around with sample rates and recording time to get files that I can open on Windows Machines.

When there is a solution found, can I see that in the release notes?

Then I will keep track of that to see if there is a fix made,

I heard back from the developers on this, and the reason is that more memory have been allocated to the sample set than the Windows application supports I'm afraid. Please turn down the amount of allocated memory, to something that gives an estimated RAM requirement lower than 1GB. The "estimated RAM requirement" can be seen above the start button in the Power profiler app. The Linux and MacOS version of the application should support these larger files though, so if you have a MacOS or Ubuntu machine at your disposal you will be able to open the existing file(s) there to review them.

We're looking into fixing this, but don't have a quick fix for opening these files in Windows at the moment I'm afraid.

Hi,

This was an issue earlier as well, but was fixed as of v3.4.2 of the Power Profiler app I believe. Can you zip the file and upload it here on DevZone so we can take a look at it on our end (DevZone doesn't support pure .ppk files unfortunately.

On your end, you can also try to make a copy of the file you want to open, and try to open that file in the Power Profiler app.
