I am using nCS version 1.9.1 for my application development which is fine. This gives me an application image which I can flash using vscode nrf connect extension.
I have a requirement to build and generate a separate mcuboot bootloader image

RE: Can i compile and run mcuboot bootloader image separately on nordic boards..?

Ok.
That doesn't help my case and seems I will have to try it out myself from ground.

RE: Can i compile and run mcuboot bootloader image separately on nordic boards..?

Hello,

I have already checked with my colleague about this, when you raised this query. But I haven't received any good response. The main thing is you are working with the Original MCUboot not the one integrated with Zephyr and also building this separately from the Application. So far I couldn't find any resources for doing this.

Kind Regards,

Hello Abhijith,

Can you check with someone or point me to some resource to do this..?

I think other than dts file, nothing else should be needed, I am asking as I see nCS has some code added into it's mcuboot library for nordic board.

RE: Can i compile and run mcuboot bootloader image separately on nordic boards..?

Hello,

It should be theoretically possible, but to be honest I don't have much idea on this. And it will not be that easy to do this. The projects use the partition manager to build, according to the partitions. So you have to ensure that MCUboot will point to the same place.

As a suggestion you can try by selecting a simple project (hello_world) and add mcuboot to this. Then you can use the same pm_static.yml to both the simple project and the application to make sure that the partitions match. This is not exactly a proper method, but it should work. I am not sure whether this method is useful for you or not.

Kind Regards,
