So it's just an external LED connects to a gpio that is able to provide high voltage, and it's cathode connects to ground.

Could you share schematics and/or pictures that shows how these LEDs are connected? Are they e.g. active low or high?

I do know that blinky can help to light up the in built LED but I want to connect external LED To the gpio.

Yup I have connected two LEDs to my DK. And I am planning to light up the LEDs by using the function gpio_pin_set_dt. Do you have sample code for me?
