I do not have any references on MP3 decoding, but it is possible. For instance, another developer replied with a suggestion in this post.

I debugged the issue, and I found some error while receiving the CMD0 response R1.

now it is working fine. Please guide me how can I read an MP3 file from SD card and make it play through i2s.

Can you say more about your WH setup and how you are testing and what you have found? This thread has a few good points about potential reasons for getting the "Disk initialization failed" error with the fatfs example.
