I managed to find the solution, and it was very simple!

I had no handler for BLE_GAP_EVT_CONN_PARAM_UPDATE_REQUEST on my central, and therefore I ignored that request. This in turn leads to the peripheral disconnecting after about 60 seconds: RE: BLE Central disconnect after exactly 65.5 sec

Adding a handler for this event and replying to the request solved my issue.

Could you please share the sniffer log that you got?

I am already using the suggested values in the linked thread. I have been running the code on either a nRF52832 dev kit (the one with built-in JLink) and a nRF52840 dongle, with the same results.

Hi Marne,

Given your description, I think your nRF52 device might be having clock drifting. What is the low frequency clock source in your nRF52 setup?
