I have cut SB2 and soldered SB1 so that I can flash the dongle thru SWDIO and SWCLK instead of thru USB. Can I use nRF52832-DK for programming the flash? or I need to buy nRF52840-DK?

No, you don't need to solder them, just make sure that the device is running at 3V and that vREF from the debugger is connected to VDD.

You must set REGOUT0 to 3V0, since the nRF52832 only supports debugging targets at 3V0. You can damage the board, If you don't set REGOUT0 on the dongle before trying to program it from the DK.

The "debug out" connector has a detector pin that is used to switch onto the external target . GND and VCC have to be connected, too.
