nRF52832 DK for programming flash of nRF52840

I am using nRF52840 dongle for prototyping an IoT product. I have cut SB2 and soldered SB1 so that I can flash the dongle thru SWDIO and SWCLK instead of thru USB. Can I use nRF52832-DK for programming the flash? or I need to buy nRF52840-DK?

If I use nRF52832-DK, the dongle is not detected by the programmer utility of nRF connect for desktop. LD2 keeps on blinking.

You can use nrf52832 dk, but you have to be clever when connecting it.

The "debug out" connector has a detector pin that is used to switch onto the external target . GND and VCC have to be connected, too.

Hi,

You must set REGOUT0 to 3V0, since the nRF52832 only supports debugging targets at 3V0. You can damage the board, If you don't set REGOUT0 on the dongle before trying to program it from the DK.

It means I need to revert the changes I made to SB1 and SB2 and restore it to USB mode. right?

Where did you read that you had to cut SB1 and SB2 to use the SWD interface?

I am powering nRF52840 using CR2450 battery which is 3V 650mAh
