The nRF Connect SDK is using the OpenThread stack for Thread, so for more information and API, you should check out the OpenThread documentation at https://openthread.io. For guides, go to https://openthread.io/guides. There is a guide specifically about building a Thread network using Nordic boards and OpenThread here https://openthread.io/codelabs/openthread-hardware. The current OpenThread API can be found here: https://openthread.io/reference. You can also find more information about Thread in nRF Connect SDK in our documentation: Thread - nRF Connect SDK.

As for working with nRF52833 DK, we have a Working with nRF52 Series guide.

Best regards,
Marte
