Hi Rob,

Sorry for the delayed response. I was a bit held up with another case.

The Cortex Debug is an extension we provide along with nRF Connect for VSCode extension pack, but as you mentioned, it is not necessary to do this. I just wanted to know if the problem was with our nRF Debug.

What does the Cortex-Debug extension give me that the nRF-Connect extension doesn't?

I can tell that the option has been de-selected because I don't hit the first implicit breakpoint in main but in cpu_idle.S

I can try explicitly setting the CONFIG_DEBUG_OPTIMIZATIONS = y in prj.conf to see if I don't need to set the option in the Edit Build Configuration.

Is "Cortex Debug" a VSC extension? I don't have it if so.

The "Enable Debug" options basically sets CONFIG_DEBUG_OPTIMIZATIONS = y in your prj.conf.

Are you able to debug without selecting the enable debug option?

Also, what is your Cortex Debug version?
