No, I haven't programmed anything (I wasn't able to connect to the board from the moment I've unpackaged it). Contacted the digikey for a replacement/

Your DK looks good. I am not sure why this is happening. Have you programmed anything into the DK? If it's like this when you started please contact your distributor and explain the issue.

The voltage between VDD_nRF on P20 and GND is 3.9v.

This can be a hardware issue.

nRF5340DK is supplied by the VDD_nRF net. You can measure this on the connector P20 by using a multi meter. Take a look at this page in our infocenter.

Could you also share a nice picture of your DK to make sure the hardware has not been tampered.

Looked at LED5 more closely - when turning power switch on (from off) - it lights up very briefly (1/10s maybe) and then goes off.

Positions of those switches are correct (on, VDD, default).

I am using a USB port on the short side.

LED5 is somewhat erratic. Most of the time it's off, toggling the power switch between positions sometimes turns it on for some time.

What would be the best testpoint for the voltage measurement?

Hello

Could you check which position every switch on your DK is put to? There should be 3 switches, the power switch, nRF power source switch and nrf only|default switch

The switches should be set to on, VDD and default respectively.

Which micro-usb port have you connected your device to? Is it the nRF USB port on the long side or the USB port on the short side?

What is the status of LED5 on your DK?

Have you measured the supply voltage on the kit? It should be somewhere between 2.8V-3.3V. If it isn't, then the hardware is probably broken.
