Hello,

With this SDK version you need to use nrf util version 0.5.x for generating the DFU package. Take a look at this old thread from my colleague which explains the same and instruction link for doing this is also mentioned there. You can also find the old executable files for the nRF Util there.

This might be because you are working with a bit old SDK. Could you share the SDK version of your Firmware. Please see the introduction page of the nRF util document, there explains the compactable version of the Tool depending on your SDK version.

Hi, tested this command:

nrfutil nrf5sdk-tools pkg generate --hw-version 51 --sd-req=0xFFE --application test_app.hex --application-version 1 test_app.zip

Got the same result: "init_packet_data" is not generated...

As I understand, my "old" DFU need this part of the manifest file to work..

Could you also try: nrfutil nrf5sdk-tools pkg generate instead of nrfutil pkg generate?

Yes:

I use this command:

nrfutil pkg generate --hw-version 51 --sd-req=0xFFE --application test_app.hex --application-version 1 test_app.zip

This works with no errors, but my Minifest file still missing the "init_packet_data"

I'm using an old dfu, and I can't change to a newer one..

To me, it looks like the "new" nrfutil tool is not back comaptible with older DFU's..

Could you try something like this: nrfutil pkg generate --hw-version 52 --sd-req=0xFFE --application test_app.hex --application-version 1 test_app.zip as mentioned in the blog post I pointed before?

Could you please provide a screenshot of running the nrf pkg generate command and the error following that? Please see this old thread where the customer is able to successfully generate the DFU package using pkg generate command.

As you can read in my text above, I get error message on the parameters: --dev-revision and --dev-type. Couldnt fine any good answare on this in your blog post..

AFAIK, you only need to use nrfutil pkg generate command for generating the package. Are you getting any error message while running this command? Take a look at this blog post on nRF util which explains more on new version of nRF util.
