If you're still stuck with the SD card issue, could you please open a new ticket for it?

We like to keep separate issues in their own tickets, so that DevZone is easier to search and navigate for other users.

Also pleases know that we are not able to help with issues or audio configuration on your host OS. Maybe some Windows or Raspberry Pi forum is best for that.

Did you perform the steps mentioned under testing? Are your host audio settings configured correctly?

Besides that, it might be better to contact the Zephyr Community regarding this Zephyr sample.

I successfully built and flashed the sample application, but upon connecting it to the HOST, I encountered issues with both listening and recording audio.

It turns out that Zephyr has a "USB Audio" sample application: https://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/samples/subsys/usb/audio/headset/README.html

That should be a good starting point for your solution.

I don't think we would be able to help you on the Raspberry Pi OS side of things.

This is not really a suitable question for this forum, but this should be possible by going to your sound settings > finding your audio input device > open device properties/"advanced" settings > click the "listen" tab > enable "listen to this device":

If you want to do the same on Linux later on, I recommend looking at "PipeWire".
