Okey, I set this case to idle until you get back. I have heard about stories in the past where chip set drivers for the USB has caused problems with UART, however that was many years ago.

Now I've tested it on another computer running:

and with a different usb hub.

There I couldn't repeat the error with the same card. I'm currently out of office, but I'll do more tests when I get back.

Have you tested the card against another computer or have you experienced the same problem with other DKs?
What we could try is to use another clock just in case there are some timing issues. If you add this to your code https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/blob/main/samples/peripheral/radio_test/src/main.c and call clock init in your main before the UART.

On Linux, the segger jLink software isn't used for the serial port, linux's cdc_acm driver is used so the version doesn't matter.

The card uses the new nRF5340 based debug probe so the sticker is on the PCB.

What version of Segger Jlink are you running? Currently we are recommending Segger Jlink v780c.

On your DK, is the serial number poster mark over an IC or on the PCB?

Are you running your tests with the new nRF5340 based debug probe? I can't seem to find any other FW to it than the one I'm running.

I will check, I did however run 33k+ lines without seeing the problem on windows running same FW as you. I'm will run the same test on Linux to see if I can replicate it there.

The program says "Not updated, probe/ programmer firmware is already up to date.".
Is there some way to download the older firmware version to the probe?

I have run over 6000 ticks without being able to see the problem with MSD disabled while running 2020 Nov 7.

Can you try to update Host and Probe FW and see if you have the same problem?

I have managed to recreate the problem one in 5000 using the same message interval as yourself while having MSD enabled at my end.

Will see if I can recrate it without MSD.

I'm trying to recreate what you are experiencing.

Can you check with the help of J-Link Configuration check the host FW and the probe/programmer FW?
