I get a new nRF51-DK and I am trying to download an hex file into it.

I downloaded and installed nRFgo studio.

I connected my nRF51-DK to my laptop through usb cable. when the board is connected, the led LD5 is on.

Yes. 2. Yes. 3. This is usually not necessary. Here is a tutorial that shows how to get you started with your first BLE application: Setting up an example project on the nRF51 DK.

EDIT: Here is a nice blog post too: Step by Step Guide to Setup and Start Developing with the nRF51 DK and Keil.

RE: programming hex file into nRF51-DK

Thanks Martin.
What are the steps I need to fllow ?
I guess:

Program the soft device hex

Program the application hex

Power off then power on the nRF kit
Am I right ?

You can find the softdevice .hex files here.

RE: programming hex file into nRF51-DK

Hi vineeshvs,
J flash lite is working now. I make an error in chip selection.
The remaining question is where I can find the softdevice hex ?

RE: programming hex file into nRF51-DK

Hi vineeshvs,

Thanks for the answer but I still have doubts:
I launched J-flash and when but I get the following error message:
Could not perform target reset. Failed to connect. What could be the root cause ?
When I changed the settings to SWD I get the following error message:
Could not find any flash devices. Failed to connect. Which options do I need to setup for J flash ?

Where can I find the softdevice hex ?

RE: programming hex file into nRF51-DK

You could try J flash lite for programming.
