The code you have shared is based on ADC sample, and you are getting errors/problem when compiling with nCS v2.0.0.

In fact, the proper method to start with samples is first to choose the ncs version first, and the corresponding toolchain from the VSCode welcome screen (quick setup), and then create a new application and choose the required sample accordingly.

If you start ADC sample in v2.1.0 and v2.0.0, you will see several differences in the provided code of these samples.

Example provided with a particular ncs version may not always work with other ncs versions, and that is the case with this ADC example.

Also, ADC example in v2.1.0 supports nrf52840DK while the v2.0.0 does not.

There might be other differences as well (including dts bindings, header files, and driver implementations etc.)
