Ok so it turns out the display name is set from the DCL. Your vendor and product information has to be in the DCL for it to show up in the respective home apps.

Ok I will reach out to Apple again. For the time being, can you ask your engineers why I cannot set the NodeLabel attribute?

When I try to set the NodeLabel attribute in the Basic cluster, I am getting this error in RTT.

00> I: 220 [ZCL]0xc899dep 0 clus 0x0000_0028 attr 0x0000_0005 not supported
00> E: 220 [ZCL]Error setting NodeLabel attribute: 134

I am setting it on Endpoint 0 and it is configured and turned on in the Zap tool.

If you haven't contacted apple yet, I advise that you do so.

The methods suggested in previous replies from my colleagues are the possible fixes that we have gotten from our developers.

Susheel Nuguru I can confirm that Eve is indeed using an nrf52840 on their product and they are as well using the Matter stack.

Hi, this seems to be an issue related stricktly to Apple app and not the behavior of ouru accessory. The best option is creating a ticket/question for Apple tech support at https://developer.apple.com/forums/tags/feedback-assistant.

Can you try to change the "defaultValue" of "NodeLabel" attribute in the zap file, from empty field to a desired default name for the device, and see if that will work for you.
