its not possible. because after three seconds we have to check that the button is still pressed and then you can either release the button after the 3 seconds or continue to press it for two more seconds. The decision cannot be made until 5 seconds are expired.

yes thanks you i did that voting but there is no other possible ways to start pwm exactly after 3 sec without 2 sec delay and turn of after 5 sec with one buton?

hello aryan thanks for your reply acually am using the same button for three purposes first press the button for 3 sec then it will turn on pwm and then if i press the press the button for 5seconds it will trun off the pwm and moreover if i press the button between three and five seconds it has to send notifcation to the central(android phone about the button pressed state) so inorder to achieve this am usign the same button i did not cut of the code but am ttrying to develp the code with your help aryan

Now you have to see the same result as me because our main.c file is same, else you are doing something else and not giving me the full code. I have commented all printfs. Please accept the answer if you see the same result.

I took your main file and compiled today ... i have no idea what you are trying to do? The main function should end with while(1){}; .. this is an embedded platform and the main function cannot return. Also your printfs are used before even initializing uart.

You were using app timer with one shot, so you need not cancel the app_timer_2_sec when you release the button.

I am uploading the main file that i tested in SDK10. After pressing the button, and i verified that it works with pin 6 as pwm signal.

NOTE: The side effect of using the same button to detect on and off with timer is that. When you press the button for 3 seconds, the pwm will start 2 with 2 seconds delay. When you press button for 5 seconds, the pwm will stop immediately. This is because the decision is taken after 5 seconds of the button push.

You now have opened a new case regarding the exact same thing we were dealing here.

devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../ I have asked you to implement a logic and looking at the main file attached in the new thread, you have not implemented it. Another problem in your code is that In the pwm_init function you initialize pwm library start pwm, wait for 10ms and stop pwm and uninit the pwm library.

I am attaching the code fixed with my suggestion. I have not compiled it but you can see the logic i was suggesting.

I will close the other case as duplicate. I can see that you are not happy with my inputs here, even though i have spent hours on trying to explain you things in detail. So I will stop looking into this case from now. Wish you good luck with your project.

When you are using the same button for recognizing 3 seconds push and 5 seconds push then it is normal that it is getting confused when you 3 seconds are expired.

t You can change your logic like this. When you press the button, start the 3 second timer. When the 3 sec timer expires and its callback is called, check if the button is still pressed, If it is still shows that the button is pressed, start 2 seconds timer. When the two seconds timer expires and the callback is called, check again if the button is being pressed. If it is not pressed, then it was 3 seconds push and start the buzzer. If it is still being pressed it is a 5 second push so stop the buzzer.

yes am still facing a lot of problems concerning the timer issue i am using 2 timers one for 3sec and another for 5 sec but the real problem is when i press the button for 3 sec it is making buzzer beep and whenever i press the button for 5 sec it is making buzzer beep when it reaches 3 sec and at the end of 5 sec it turns of device could you tell me how to resolve this issue i want buzzer to be beeped only for 3 sec timer not for 5 sec timer

Hello Aryan as i am right now focusing on using only on SDK 9 because i dont want to waste more time by fixing the issue between SDK9 and sdk10 But am not able to find the issue in the above program it is not even getting executed in sdk10

Thanks i have uploaded the project as you see in the project it is working well for the SDK 9 and the sdk 10 it is not even getting executed and when i press the button for 3sec it turns on the buzzer and start advertsing and if i press the same button for 5 sec it is stop advertsing and also again the buzzer beeps when it cross the 3sec so could you tell me how cna i stop the buzzer wheni press the button for 5sec

Hello aryan i was able to manage the PWM functions in the program but the real issue is when i modifed the program for the SDK10 it is not getting bonded only its get connected after if i select bond it is not getting disconnected could you please verify the issue i almost verified each and everything but not able to find the issue

I think it will tell the polarity of PWM signal which is important to set its initial state active high means that the pin is value with start will logic 0. I am not 100% sure about it so i might be wrong.
