I'm currently trying to reduce power consumption in Matter samples (ncs v2.3.0) with as SED or SSED. I tried to do everything described in this article:

We tried this setting, it did not work. We still can't get the average power consumption while sleeping below ~ 100 µA.

If we can't get the current blow ~5 µA we won't be able use the nrf5340 for our battery-powered Matter remote. Are there any settings/options missing we need to enable?

We are already familiar with the methods listed here: developer.nordicsemi.com/.../low_power_configuration.html

Thanks for your help.

RE: Sleep power consumption in Matter samples with SED/SSED

Hello Julius,

Can you try to set CONFIG_SERIAL =n in the hci_rpmsg child image as well?

RE: Sleep power consumption in Matter samples with SED/SSED

Hello Kazi,

I tried it with sample/matter/template on the nrf5340dk. Today I built the exact same Matter template for the nrf52840dk and it worked much better:

So im 99% sure it has something to do with the network core not going to sleep. I saw in an other post, that you should CONFIG_LOG=n in child_image/hci_rpmsg/prj_release.conf.

I haven't tried that yet, because in my build folder: build/multiprotocol_rpmsg/zephyr/.config it already has " # CONFIG_LOG is not set "

Are there more settings for the network core the reduce power consumption?

Thanks,

Could you please tell which sample/application you are running on your DK to measure the power consumption?

Thanks.
