I have the same issue as the op and I can reliably reproduce it by doing DFU over BLE using the SMP server. I get about 4% into the transfer before seeing the exact same error every time.

Perhaps it has to do with the amount or rate of data being transferred?

Sorry for the delayed reply, I have been trying to get a better idea of what is causing the issue.

I have not been able to identify the steps to reliably reproduce the error. It seems to be occurring randomly.

Unfortunately, I cannot share application code since it contains proprietary elements.

I was hoping this would be a simple matter of a missing Kconfig setting. Since I cannot reliably reproduce the error or share application code, it might be best to close the ticket. I will attempt to resolve the issue as best I can.

I have been assigned this ticket and I will look into this.

Can you let me know how to reproduce this? Is it reproducible with the HCI_LPUART sample and your configurations / overlays?

How you are testing your project. What is host application? Please provide details.

I can not see anything wrong/different compared to sample(s) configurations and overlays.
