I looked here and it says to c onnect nRF5 DK - the controller - to your computer (with UART) and run
the questions are:
1) just to make sure we need 2 boards one is the controller

RE: DFU over BLE with nrfutil
regarding answer 2, where can I find this connectivity FW project?
I have looked in the SDK and there are several projects containing the word connectivity.
Hmmm... It is there somewhere. But I'm not sure where exactly.

But if the goal is just to do DFU of your own target then you don't need to modify this project. Just let nrfutil handle it. The final "-f" option in the command line you quoted should take care of this automatically.

RE: DFU over BLE with nrfutil

regarding answer 2, where can I find this connectivity FW project?
I have looked in the SDK and there are several projects containing the word connectivity.

RE: DFU over BLE with nrfutil

1: yes

2: the "-f" option for nrfutil does that for you. Nordic calls it connectivity firmware. See nrfutil dfu ble --help

3: (edited to correct:) this erases the controller.

4: Technically it should be possible to use the PC's own buetooth hardware, but I don't think Nordic provides any ready-made solution for that
