How does it not work?

How do you build the project, using west build or VS Code?

For west build, you could use this command for nRF52840DK:

west build -p -b nrf52840dk_nrf52840 zephyr/samples/hello_world -d build/hello_world

On a whim, I had no idea what to do, I asked your Toolchain manager to update the SDK, which it proceeded to do snd took a very long time to do, After the update, the problem of the missing sample code has seemingly disappeared.

However, when I try to build Blinky, I get the following error messages form the build process:

Hi,

How do you install the SDK? You could install NCS via the Toolchain Manager. Then, you could see the examples as Don indicated.
You could upload the file via the toolbar: Insert -> Image/video/file

I printed out a directory listing for the SDK/Toolchain directories and was going to upload it for your reference, however I can't figure out how to do that on your web interface, so, I was uunable to do it. Ify need it, please reply with instructions on how to lupoad it.

Hi Dan,

I came to be where I am; stuck and frustrated, by attempting to do exactly what you now recommend that I do. Let me state it more directly; I was trying to follow the introductory course in order to compile and test a sample program. I carefully followed the instructions for installing the software, not once but three times. The course instructs one to open a project called blinky. Blinky is not in the SDK I downloaded from you. It doesn’t exist! I cannot figure out how to find it on your website.

Please find me the software for Blinky or any other sample code that I can compile and test and provide instructions on how to download and install it.

I am very vexed that you have dealt with me so dismissively. I’ve put a lot of time and effort into this; I’ve tried everything I can think of and for you to suggest that I do the very thing I told you I was having trouble with borders on the insulting.

If you feel you are not up to the task, please ask your supervisor to assign a more experienced eengineer.

It goes over the basics of starting the project and teaches the workflow of VS Code, How to create custom boards and more.

Samples are located in many places in the documentation located at the https://developer.nordicsemi.com/nRF_Connect_SDK/doc/2.3.0/nrf/samples.html website. You can find samples for most of our boards there.

You can find the zephyr basic samples in my directory structure as below. Remember no spaces in the naming of directories and keep them as short as possible.

ncs\v2.3.0\zephyr\samples\hello_world

ncs\v2.3.0\zephyr\samples\basic\blinky
