Sweet, thanks! I'll check this out. I was unable to find any signal strength reporting but this may just work. If I remember correctly, older API versions did not provide any advertising data.

Hi syntroniks, Thanks for your reply! The Windows.Devices.Bluetooth.Advertisement namespace provides an app with a methods that allow the following in windows 10: Receive advertisement data from Bluetooth LE peripherals with configurable filtering capabilities. Send out Bluetooth LE advertisements allowing the app to operate as a source of beacon advertisements.

Does this mean windows 10 bluetooth drivers can support it?

Try using a Gatekeeper, it is a BLE device pair that lets you lock/unlock PCs using proximity: http://gkchain.com/

I could not find any other products that would let you do this, and built in windows bluetooth drivers don't yet support it.
