I am a beginner and need to know how i can set up the mesh network using the nRF52840. I need to connect 9 nodes in the mesh and collect latency data. Please help with instructions. Anyone can chip in, please.

The nRF5 SDK for Mesh v2.0.0 includes support for GATT proxy and PB-GATT server, Any one help me with link to these Api, Not able to find them in docs

I think the provisioner is much complexer than the other mesh devices.One of the important function of provisioner is to config the status(such as the publish/subscription address) of all the nodes,just like a manager role of the mesh network. Is that right? and what the recommend for a device for provisioner?

@Yatekii: No there is no particular reason that it has to be SDK v12, just because we had our development started with S132 v3.0.
@Folu: No,not something coming in near future.

Thanks a lot for the quick answer! Very sad tho v14.0 is not supported :) Is there any particular reason that you use v12.0 other than the time of start of development? Otherwise I will wait for compatibility as there is enough stuff to do without the meshing ;) And as I understood is that the mesh is merely in charge of routing or rather flooding adverts and GATT requests, right?

Hi Yatekii,

Bluetooth Mesh and Bluetooth 5.0 are not related. They share the BLE bearers (advertising bearer and GATT bearer) but that's all, anything above that is not related. We will try to update the Mesh stack to be compatible with newer Softdevice but I don't have exact date.

Why is the SD v5.0 the Softdevice that supports BT 5.0 but the Mesh that's part of the BT 5.0 standard is only compatible with the SD v5.0 and the outdated SDK 12? Will there be compatibility with the 14.0 SDK? I now ported everything to the SDK 14.0 and SD v5.0 because I wanted the BT 5.0 Mesh only to see now that the Mesh is a SD v3.0 and SDK 12.0 thing? oO

@Lubo: The Bluetooth Mesh and the OpenMesh are not related, they are different protocol. So issue 92 is not relevant for Bluetooth Mesh. The "low power support" mentioned was about the Friend node and the Low power node.

@Roger Clark: I don't think it would fit on the nRF51 16kB RAM variant. The softdevice requires 8kB+2kB call stack. The minium RAM requirement for the Mesh stack adding 7kB more.

Does anyone know if this runs on a 16k nRF51822 QFAA, as I have a load of these I'd like to try as a mesh network, but I suspect perhaps it needs QFAC (32k)

Edit.

I see in the docs it says

Recommended >= 200 kB Flash and >= 32 kB RAM

But what does "Recommended" mean

The nRF51 never has > 32kB RAM

But of course the nRF52 does
