Hi,

I'm performing sharing tests using the light_bulb demo on nRF54L15 with nRF Connect SDK v2.9.0.

When trying to share the Matter device from Apple Home to the SmartThings app (on Android), or from SmartThings to Apple Home (on iOS), the sharing process fails in both cases.

After tapping "Turn On Pairing Mode" on iOS or "Sharing with other" on the SmartThings app, and scanning the QR code or entering the setup code, there is no log output from the serial console.

What could be the reason for this?

This is a good article. I think it would be good to have it separated into individual paths for google home, Samsung and Apple. It would help with keeping the workflow clean, and remove any potential for one device (google,samsung and apple) to set something up to add the configuration of the others.

Is it correct that the Thread Border Router does not store the commissioning data when either the device or the Thread Border Router is power cycled?
We have tested quite a lot and this is our experience.
Do you know how the commissioning of a device can be permenent?
Or is it not possible for unauthorized devices?

Thanks for the helpful article. Could you provide another example of sharing an already Apple Home commissioned thread device to a chip-tool fabric? I'm trying to use the setup code displayed by the home app via chip-tool so:

But I can't get it to work, the chip-tool doesn't recognize the DK with the light bulb example. I'm trying to get this working so that we can use chip-tool to test custom clusters that aren't otherwise available through HomeKit.

Hi Kamil, thanks for the extensive guide.

From a pure Thread network perspective, is it possible to have my Google Nest Hub 2.Gen join my existing Thread network, lead by a HomePod mini?
I haven't seen any UI from Google so far, but maybe I am missing something.

If I just turn on my Google Nest hub and set it up using an Android phone, I believe I create a second, parallel Thread network?

(I do have Matter over Thread devices + older HomeKit over Thread devices running.)

Can I Commission of Matter over thread Light Bulb to the Apple Home ecosystem?

As Apple's Homepage, the latest HomePod can compatible with Matter-enabled Thread accessories, Thread-based accessories require a Thread-enabled home hub, such as Apple TV 4K, HomePod (2nd generation), HomePod mini, or a third-party Thread border router.

I tried the Light Bulb with a nRF52840 DK but failed commissioning. Could you give me some advice? Thank you！
