&lt;p&gt;Regarding the internal ldo vs. dcdc see &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/question/44333/internal-dcdc-vs-ldo-for-nrf52-series/"&gt;this question&lt;/a&gt;, basically if you have the room on your pcb to place the external components required to use the dcdc converter you should place them, this does not exlude you from using the internal ldo. (Hence marking the layout without those components as not reccomended)&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I see that this was not clear at all from my text, I will rewrite that section.&lt;/p&gt;
