Reset of the PLOS_CNT ?

Hi,

It is indicated on page 59 of the datasheet (rev1.0), concerning the register nr.8 OBSERVE_TX, that "the counter PLOS_CNT is reset by writing to RF_CH. See page 75." However, I do not see anything on page 75 (Appendix A) regarding the reset of the PLOS_CNT counter. And I do not see what the configuration of the register RF_CH has in common with the counter of lost packets !??

Regards

  • Hi,

The PLOS_CNT is reset when you write to RF_CH register. Appendix A explains more in detail on how to interpret the content of PLOS_CNT.

PLOS_CNT can be used as an indication if a RF channel is currently noisy due to other 2.4G devices within your area.

The datasheet explains the OBSERVE_TX register nicely:

The ARC_CNT counts the number of retransmissions for the current transaction. You reset ARC_CNT by initiating a new transaction. The PLOS_CNT counts the total number of retransmissions since the last channel change. You reset PLOS_CNT by writing to the RF_CH register.

    Best regards, Håkon
