UICR vs external EEPROM (not write protected) for critical data?

Hello to all embedded jedi-masters out there!

I need your guidance.

I have a general product design question: I was wondering on what would be the best practice for storing critical product-related data:

  1. The UICR registers of my nrf52832
  2. An external CAT24C512 which is not write protected.
  3. Both for redundancy. The million dollar question is how do I handle inconsistencies, for example after a self diagnostic function on reset.

May the force be with you!
