RSSI related question

In the data sheet of the NRF51 and 52 there is mention that sensitivity of NRF51 is -96 dBm and NRF52 -98.

But I read some where that when RSSI is -90 then that signal is unusable so what does the above mentioned value of sensitivities means ?

Does it mean that NRF51 and 52 can detect signal of -96 and -98 ?

Can you explain me more about this ?

I'm not sure where you found those numbers, but they don't seem to be correct. These are the numbers for the nRF52.

Anyways, the sensitivity of a receiver is the smallest amount of power that can be input to the receiver, not exceeding a certain Bit-Error Rate (BER) threshold. The numbers in the data sheet are results of our measurements test.
