perform no bonding

We did set the perform bonding option in the proximity example in the v6.0.0 sdk to 0. And it did work. No bonding information is stored. Android devices are fully capable of interacting with the device without user interaction.

The problem is with apple devices, they keep asking the user to allow the bonding of the device. When we click ok none of the pairing information is stored on the iPhone and the device is connected. The problem is the dialog the user gets. we need the user to come near the device and an iPhone must be able to connect to it automaticly, without user interaction.

Is this a problem which needs to be solved in the iPhone app or the nrf51 firmware?

Hi Martijn,

This is a feature of the iOS that ensures that everything that require authentication has a user interaction. So that nothing automated happens without a user previously giving consent to it.

The only way to solve this is to not use encryption at all.

Do not add any characteristics/descriptors in your datatabase that require authentication.

We disabled all encryption and the iPhone is not asking for any user authentication anymore :D, but now the immidiate alert service is not working anymore and we can't find any security settings for this service.

We managed to solve the problem. Where was a bug in nRF51 SDK v6.0.0. see (devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../). By using the provided device_manager_peripheral.c we can now use iOS. We did have to activate bonding again and use encryption.
