PCB size for nRF module

Hello, I have designed a PCB (25mmx55mm) and placed the nRF24l01 module (available as a standard add on module). But I am unable to get the data out of the board. I have tried the same design with the board size a little larger (50mmx50mm) and the nRF module works fine with data being transmitted to a nearby device. Is there a size restriction on the PCB for using these modules? If anyone has a solution or could point out what I may be doing incorrectly - will be much appreciated. Thanks!

The modules themselves don't really have a requirement when it comes to PCB size, however the larger the ground plane you present the RF section the better. To answer this in more detail we would need to evaluate your schematics and layout for both boards.
