Which SOC I need

Am trying to setup a module where I need to send the Serial port ( say from printer/peripheral COM) to a BLE Peripheral/Central Module. Not sure which SOC or combination of them would help me achieve. New in the domain so would appreciate help with any details

Adding a text diagram to highlight the pieces:

COM port on device -> Nordic Device ---(RS232) ==> One Phone ==(Bluetooth Smart Mostly Peripheral, at times Central) ==> Multiple Phones (Bluetooth Smart Central)

1. What Nordic SoC can fulfill the role

2. What BLE profile/spec would transcribe Serial Port data to a Data packet stream that can be send via Peripheral/Central roles.

The nRF51 series has UART interface. There are UART example code from the SDK. Other example can be found on this blog site as well as RS-232 breakout board you can use with it.

You should have a look at the nRF51 family of products. This chip will enable you to do what you are describing, just ensure that the voltage level entering the nRF51822 is within range from the serial port. You may need level shifters.

There are UART examples available in the nRF51 SDK. Just as a reference, here's a link to documentation about it as well.
