How much mechanical stress can the nRF51288 ( PTR5528 ) take?

For my project I would like to use this bluetooth module: freqchina.en.alibaba.com/.../Fingertip_size_nRF51822_Module_Ultra_Low_Power_Bluetooth_4_0_Low_Energy_RF_Module.html

Does it resist 4 bar pressure? Does it resist circular motion > 100 rounds/second (radius 7cm)? (And how does that may effect the bluetooth signal..?)

  • I'm sorry, but we haven't tested this and can't provide you with any numbers or guarantees. The numbers you mention add up to some serious centripetal acceleration, though. My guess is that your solder joints will crack before the nRF51 malfunctions due to the acceleration. With regards to the BT signals I can't see any issues with this. Maybe you will see some small fluctuations in range.

  • Thanks for your answer! I had planned to completely shed the module in resin against the forces.
