nrf51 dongle programming

Hi,

I want to get this dongle to 'see' the data being transmitted to and from the nrf51 dk. I saw a note hereadafruit saying

The sniffer firmware cannot be used with the Nordic DFU bootloader firmware, which means that if you want to reprogram this devices you must use a J-Link + SWD adapter! You cannot over-the-air reprogram it.

I have doubt. If I don't have the J-Link + SWD adapter, can I still reprogram the firmware?

    Who's dongle are you talking about? Are you intending on getting Nordic's NRF51 Dongle, the one made by Nordic? That comes with onboard Segger and full support and can be programmed without additional hardware. Or are you talking about getting the Adafruit BLE Sniffer which doesn't come with any of those things? The Adafruit one needs you to have or purchase a Segger or other programmer with the correct cable if you want to program it.

    Thanks for your response, RK. I need one that works with MCP so I'm going with the nrf51 Dongle.
