Internal Flash as a Non volatile Memory for user data

Currently we are considering whether we should use external Flash Memory or NRF52 Internal Flash. External Flash memory has a lot of drawback in comparsion with internal flash. -Board Space, cost, lead time, software complication, power consumption,

Im wondering what kind of drawbacks has NRF52 internal flash. Im aware of Flash retention (20k Erase/Write operation), 10 Years , can change application software, small amount

We need only 70kB of Flash . Is there any other important disadvantage?

Hi,

I would add the limitation that write and erase operation may fail with active softdevice to your list (see chapter Flash memory API in the softdevice specification). Depending on the use cases you have a lot of additional software is required to work around this possibility.

The nRF52832 has an endurance of 10000 write/erase cycles, and a minimum retention of 10 years. See this.
