nRF52 module with accelerometer

Hi all,

I would like to design a product based on the nRF52832 chip. The board should have an accelerometer, a charging circuitry for a LiPo and some additional components (switch, LEDs). In order to reduce development time, have a quick proto and to avoid spending time on the RF part (antenna), I would like to use an off-the-shelf module.

I have seen these modules which already have an accelerometer included:

www.mcthings.com/.../mc-mod-120

www.dynastream.com/.../d52

http://ruuvitag.com/

www.tindie.com/.../

www.iprotoxi.fi/.../iprotoxi-aistin-blue

The iprotoxi is a bit an overkill for my use case. The ruuvitag is not available yet (kickstarter campaign) and the tindie is a diy project.

Therefore, the remaining ones are the mc-mod-120 and the D52QD2M4IA-A.

I like the mc-mod-120 as it has a lot of interesting features and I could simply plug it into my custom board with simple headers. The company offers some tools to program the board but I think I will just use the standard Nordic tools as the programming pins are exposed. I would like to use BLE and ANT in parallel.

The D52QD2M4IA-A is also interesting as it is small and cheaper than the mc-mod-120. However, the footprint is a little bit more complicated for this prototyping phase and I couldn't use just headers in that case.

What is your opinion? Do you have some experience with these devices? Do you know other modules with an embedded accelerometer?

Best regards, Alex
