Most people seem to "get it", but there's always one that puts the entire question in the title; eg,
To be fair, the forum itself doesn't help!
It invites you (twice) to, "ask a question":
But that is really not the place to ask the question!
That is just the summary/title!
Quick fix: change the text to say something like, "Give a 1-line summary/title for your question"
Maybe a bit more work: put a suitable maximum character limit on the entry.
Oops - this should be in the "Backstage" section.
EDIT: It is now!
And, as Joakim Jakobsen said, add some guidance that the summary/title needs to be descriptive of the problem/question
In particular, "Help" is not useful.
Nor is 'Urgent' useful but it's amazing how many times it shows up. The least helpful questions however are of the form
"I added this to that and it doesn't work" followed by the code from the entire project.
If I see a reasonable question where the poster has done some debugging and become stuck, or isn't sure how something works and wants a pointer to the reference manual or another question, I'll do my best to answer it if I can. But the ones which just dump 10 pages of code or ask where they can get pre-written code to interface to a BZ132FF17-X I tend to move past these days. There just isn't enough time.
Thank you for the feedback.
I'll forward this to the guys responsible for the website.
Best regards, Joakim
Thanks. Did they have anything to say on the subject?
