I've never used Gnu's GCC before, but after 20 hours of trying and failing to install it on my macbook, I'm finding a shining hatred. I've downloaded their exhaustive list of prerequisites from zipfiles scattered all over the web (herpeghonnasiflclaps, anybody?), and installed and deleted them each, repeatedly until they took, but gcc itself still refuses to build. In a different way every time. It's like falling down the damn rabbit hole.
What sucks is that gcc isn't even the program I want to run, it's just to build the nRF5 sdk that I do want to run. Right? Is this grief even necessary, or could I be using the llvm_gcc knockoff from the Xcode developers tools? Did other mac users do something different to get this up and running? Please help, thanks.
