Please contact Laird support on [email protected] and have a look at http://ews-support.lairdtech.com
If you solved the problem, I'd be glad if you could post your solution here, and accept that as an answer for this question, both to clear it up, and also for other's enjoyment, if they stumble upon this later. :)
It is quite easy -just disable all dip switch based routes and flash the soft device to it. In the end this is the only thing you have to do. Sorry for that stupid question, but I still figure out more real issues....
In case anyone else finds this question, there is one more thing you need to do if using BL600 with the Nordic SDK (I just ran into this problem). You need to set pin 20 low through the Nordic SDK. It seems Laird uses pin 20 to enable whisper mode, so if it is not explicitly set to low, then you will get terrible RF performance.
This is a response I just got from Laird:
If you are using the Nordic SDK, the output of GPIO 20 must be set as a low (0v) to enable the RF transmit power circuitry. Your reference to a 10m range is the most commonly reported symptom for this issue. Setting GPIO 20 low is done via the Nordic application that you are using. We instituted GPIO 20 programmatically with smartBASIC however if you are indeed using the Nordic SDK you must set it manually.
