Where to find the latest J-Link firmware OB-SAM3U128-V2-NordicSemi

I have erased my J-Link firmware in error! after having installed the version supporting V6.12a, however that upgrade wasn't achieved via the drag and drop process.

Where can I find the .bin file to use for a Drag & Drop update process?

  • @Bjørn, Thanks for actioning the updated firmware. My PCA10040 is V0.9.0 - 2015.41 - 682336494. I got it when I attended the Nordic Global Tech Tour UK back in 2015.

The J-Link OB firmware compiled Nov 14 2016 16:58:29 .bin file hasn't appeared yet. Fingers crossed that I can drag, drop & upgrade successfully. I will monitor the download area. Appreciated.

  • I just got a reply from the nrfjprog developer and there appears to be some bugs with the firmware compiled Nov 14 2016 16:58:29 so it will not be released until these have been fixed. He recommended that you use the latest available firmware from our site. Lastly, when you're drag and dropping the .bin file to the nRF52 DK, are you putting it in bootloader mode first by holding down the reset button while power-cycling the board?

  • @Bjørn, Thanks for determining this info.

Yes I have tried an earlier version of firmware, wit J-Link Driver v6.12a, however that is when I got the following response:

WARNING: Out of sync , resynchronizing...

I then had the unlikely thought that perhaps J-Link Driver v6.12a wasn't backward compatible with earlier firmware drivers! which is very unlikely. So then started investigating how I could un-install J-Link Driver v6.12a and move back to J-Link Driver v6.10m, which I suspect I'll have to continue trying todo.

Yes the board was successfully in BOOTLOADER mode, but thanks for enquiring. Could you perhaps back version your firmware and see if J-Link Driver to v6.12a still works for you?

(I get the feeling there is some piece of the puzzle that I am not understanding)

  • I can confirm that the J-Link OB firmware compiled Feb 12 2016 12:15:53 is compatible with v6.12a, see screenshot below. image description
