What I mean is that I want to connect the camera with GPIO, and get pictures in 15fps. Transfer the data through the GPIO. Also, there is one external flash connect the processor with GPIO as well. Finally, the picture will transfer to the external memory.
So if it's SPI & I2C that you need, why didn't you make that clear in the first place?
@SJY
Are you using the Arducam or the OV7670 directly
IMHO the OV7670 is a nightmare to interface to directly. Its not strictly I2C its SCCB, but they almost operate the same. The data from the OV7670 is streamed and you have to be able to clock it into RAM at a pretty high speed (Mhz). It only barely works at all on the 16Mhz AVR processor, and even on devices like the STM32 @ 72Mhz I could not use an interrupt to read the data.
However, it looks like the Arducam has got around this by having Altera FPGA to act as a frame buffer and simplify the control etc.
@awneil I just want to see an example. SPI may not the best solution. Because it can only transfer the data in series. What I need is higher transfer rate method. Because I need transfer a large picture with 15fps or 30fps. SPI cannot do that. However, RF52DK does not have the port like DCMI of ST. So, I want to try to build it with GPIO. If this method is not achievable, I will try SPI afterwards and reduce the resolution of the picture.
@rogerclark Thanks for your commends. The module I want to use is OV5640. I am facing the same problem. However, this project need to be completed as simple as possible, and the total power should be very low. So, I cannot have an FPGA as a buffer, I want to use an external eMMC as my memory to save the picture. Also, the eMMC needs to be controlled by GPIO as well. So it is a really nightmare....
