Completely disabling sleep mode

I am using the ble_app_uart example as my base on a 52832 with sdk 12. My project runs off line power and needs to remain available for connection 24/7. I have commented out BLE_ADV_EVT_IDLE case in on_adv_evt() function and the BSP_EVENT_SLEEP case in bsp_event_handler() function.

LED 1 blinks indicating that it is advertising, and for a few minutes it is visible in nRF Connect. But, after approximately 5 minutes the device is no longer visible. However, the LED continues to blink as though the device is still advertising.

Is there something else required to disable sleep mode completely?

Are you doing unlimited advertising(BLE_GAP_ADV_FLAGS_LE_ONLY_GENERAL_DISC_MODE) with timeout set to 0?

Hey Scott, I performed the steps discussed here, but I continue to have the same problem you were facing initially. I have changed

advdata.flags              = BLE_GAP_ADV_FLAGS_LE_ONLY_LIMITED_DISC_MODE;

to

advdata.flags              = BLE_GAP_ADV_FLAGS_LE_ONLY_GENERAL_DISC_MODE

in advertisin_init().

Is there any other change that I am missing? Thanks

Did you set the timeout(APP_ADV_TIMEOUT_IN_SECONDS) to 0 ?

Hey Sigurd, I did not initially. On setting this value to 0, the board does not advertise anymore. Again, I have disabled sleep_mode_enter() and removed BLE_ADV_EVT_IDLE case from on_adv_evt(). Also, changed the flag value as discussed above.
