Interfacing temperature sensor max30205 with nrf52832

Dear sir,

I have merged the twi_sensor code in ble_app_uart code in order to read the temperature sensor MAX30205 with NRF52832 send it over Bluetooth. But I am getting temperature  value as zero form the sensor in buffer. Here is my code. Please tell me where I am going wrong.

  • Hi,

Are you sure the TWI slave address is correct? You can use the TWI scanner example to check this. Is the sensor connected to the correct pins?

Also, please make sure you check every error code, to see if any issues are happening. Specifically you should do this on your call to nrf_drv_twi_tx(). Are you getting any error codes from other function calls?

    Best regards.
    Jørgen

  • 1.I have already interfaced this sensor with nrf51422 and it's working fine. So there is no ambiguity in slave address.

    2. Sensor is connected to scl, sdk pin.

    3. I have removed all the errors.

I also tried to implement this in twi sensor example. Then also same problem is happening.

Please tell me that what is twi scanner is all about? Means which scanner is used?

  • TWI scanner is just an example in the SDK that scans all available TWI addresses and report the ones ack the address.

Please check the TWI bus with a logic analyzer to see if the expected commands is transmitted, and that the sensor responds as expected.

  • I am getting the clock pulses on SCL & SDA  pins of the target board. But still I am not getting the data from the max30205. I am herewith uploading the two videos (both are with different time base) these clock pulses on the oscilloscope.

    Blue line is SDA

    Yellow line is SCL

So please tell me where I am going wrong.

  • It is not possible to see from the videos what is happening on the transfer, but at least something is transmitted. Please make sure you check the error code from call to nrf_drv_twi_tx, and check other events in twi_handler to look for errors on the transfer.
