BT SIG service for custom_ble_service_example, not advertising

For the custom_ble_service_example, trying to change the service used in the example to a Bluetooth SIG service.

Original is:

Using the same RAM settings as Orginal:

The Original advertises ok, but the SIG version shows an error in RTT:

where main.c:779 is:

If I just change the SIG UUID pair of "0x00, 0x80" to Original "0x50, 0xBA", then the SIG version will advertise and show Unknown Service.

What piece am I missing for the SIG service to advertise on android nrf connect as Environmental Service, Temperature using the custom_ble_service_example?

Hello,

I think the issue is that you try to add a service that is defined by Bluetooth SIG with a custom service UUID. Look in one of the examples using a SIG service (such as the ble_app_hrs example from the SDK) to see how the heart rate service is added.

This SIG service worked fine for the example in sdk 13.1.

Why not sdk 15.0?

For ble_app_hrs, is the intention to add Environmental Sensing to the sdk_config,h?

I only see Health Thermometer in sdk_config.

Unfortunately, in some of the examples, the sdk_config.h files are quite stripped. Try to use the sdk_config.h file from the ble_app_template example (just copy and replace it), and then enable all the things that was enabled in the original example, in addition to what you want to enable that is not currently there.

The template and example are pretty much the same sdk_config.h file at about 12150 lines each.

Is there another config file with the Environmental Sensing service?

Do you have #define BLE_HRS_ENABLED 1 in your sdk_config.h
